Celebrating more than ten years of maintaining its operational headquarters on the island of Malta, premium software provider Yggdrasil has announced an extensive community sports sponsorship with leading local operator IK Padel Malta.
The multi-year marketing and social initiative, which officially launched earlier this year, highlights the studio’s ongoing corporate commitment to encouraging active lifestyles, team cohesion, and outdoor social interaction across the island’s iGaming community.
Deepening Community Connections Through Sport
Through this corporate partnership, players utilizing the dedicated IK Padel Village Court at Pembroke Gardens are completely immersed in the visual design language of Yggdrasil. The sports facilities feature full court branding, banners, and alignment panels tracking characters and artwork from legendary slot releases like Valley of the Gods and Vikings Go Berzerk, alongside fresh 2026 titles including Coo Coo Cashoo LightningLines™ and Gemstone Jam.
Notably, the investment has been deployed in close cooperation with three rising software studios, Fish & Chips, Slightly Edgy, and Suits & Royals, who operate as the foundational adopters of Yggdrasil’s new Game in a Box™ development kit and participate closely in the global YGG Masters Program.
Padel tennis has achieved explosive growth over the last five years, cementing itself as the primary sport for networking and recreational activity across Malta’s dense digital entertainment sector. Since its initial entry into the Maltese market in December 2019, when founders Ivana Kubickova and Neville Arpa opened their introductory court layout at the Salini Resort, the IK Padel brand has scaled its operations to encompass more than 20 professional courts across four premier hubs, including Pembroke Gardens, Manoel Island, Luxol Pembroke, and Salini Resort.
With over 3,000 active players regularizing their matches across the network, the venue provides an exceptional environment for organic brand building outside the traditional workplace grid.
Promoting Healthier Lifestyles Beyond the Office
Maria Gkezepoglou, Marketing Manager at Yggdrasil, stated that the program represents a direct mechanism to support the health and connectivity of their local workforce:
“We are excited to see IK Padel Village dressed in Yggdrasil style! Supporting sports and the community is an important part of our culture, and we are proud to partner with IK Padel to create a space where people can stay active, connect and enjoy the game together.”
Juan Carlos Chans Roncero, Professional Head Trainer at IK Padel Malta, noted that combining tech innovation with sports energy builds unique cross-industry value:
“This exciting partnership brings together the fast-growing energy of padel with the innovation and creativity of one of the iGaming industry’s leading companies! Together, we look forward to supporting the development of the sport and creating new opportunities both on and off the court.”
