United States sports betting giant DraftKings has officially announced the multi jurisdictional rollout of Moonshot, a proprietary live wagering product designed for Major League Baseball (MLB) wagers.
The custom product introduces high engagement interactive multipliers directly into the standard sportsbook slip dashboard, blending high velocity casino mechanics with real time athletic outcomes.
The operational software allows live sports bettors to place a specialized single wager prior to a team’s next qualifying plate appearance, selecting a target multiplier milestone for an enhanced potential payout. Each individual batter outcome is mapped to a predefined multipliers value, such as a hit double delivering a +2x boost to the slip.
Crucially, the system taps into the high dopamine multiplier mechanics that have driven immense player retention across modern online casino slots, as the multiplier values trigger randomly throughout live game loops. However, the system introduces a distinct risk layer reminiscent of interactive crypto crash games: if a player decides to manually cash out their position or an out is officially recorded by the umpire before the selected target multiplier milestone is successfully cleared, the entire wager instantly terminates.
Corey Gottlieb, Chief Product Officer at DraftKings, emphasized that the software rollout addresses a growing consumer demand for fast, live interactive sports betting options:

The corporate product team is initially deploying the Moonshot module across 18 distinct regulated jurisdictions throughout North America. The targeted US market list covers Arizona, Connecticut, Colorado, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming, alongside an immediate international launch within the Canadian province of Ontario.
While the gamified overlay is currently restricted exclusively to MLB betting sheets, DraftKings has not yet confirmed whether the software will be expanded onto autumn football or basketball leagues.
