bet365 and BetVictor Register for Alberta iGaming Market Ahead of July Launch

Global iGaming powerhouse bet365 and prominent operator BetVictor have officially completed their regulatory registrations with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC).

The structural expansion positions both tier-one brands to enter Canada’s second competitive, open-market online gambling territory ahead of its formal public launch on July 13, 2026.

Commercial Agreements and the Conduct-and-Manage Framework

According to the real-time AGLC registry updates, the entry of bet365 and BetVictor pushes the total number of registered private operators to 31 distinct companies. Under Alberta’s newly established regulatory framework, operators must first secure formal approval from the AGLC to establish their compliance baseline.

Once approved, brands are legally required to execute a secondary commercial agreement with the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC). The AiGC operates in a distinct “conduct and manage” capacity, directly overseeing all financial reporting, anti-money laundering (AML) protocols, consumer public complaints, and net income distribution modeling.

bet365 intends to deploy its full multi-vertical suite, comprising sportsbooks, online casino slots, live in-play fields, poker, and bingo rooms, leveraging its extensive operational data compiled since entering Ontario’s re-regulated market in 2022.

Significant Economic Advantages of the Canadian Field

Delivering keynote opening remarks at the three-day SBC Summit Canada conference in Toronto, Dale Nally, Alberta’s Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, revealed that up to 70 private operator sites could eventually be cleared to conduct commercial business across the province.

Minister Nally confirmed that 37 operators have already finalized payment for their structural registration fees, ensuring they are launch-ready for the July 13 deadline:

“Reality is simple: Albertans are already gambling online. The question was never whether online gambling existed. The question was whether it would happen in a regulated environment with strong standards, clear oversight, and meaningful player projections. We believe Alberta has entered this market with significant advantages. We have one of the strongest economies in North America. We have a business environment that understands competition, innovation, as well as investment, and we have a government that believes clear rules and smart regulation create the conditions for growth.”

Recent regional reports from the CBC also suggest that the state-managed Play Alberta portal could potentially be put up for commercial sale, mirroring the competitive environment in Ontario, where the government-backed Proline platform currently competes with 44 private, licensed iGaming operators.
