Trustly and Acres Partner to Launch Cashless Casino Solution

The open banking payment specialist, Trustly, has announced a new partnership with the casino technology provider, Acres, to implement a seamless and efficient cashless gaming solution on casino floors across the United States.

The collaboration integrates Trustly’s “Scan & Pay” technology with Acres’ innovative “Universal Payment Adapter.”

This new system allows players to fund their play at slot machines and table games instantly and securely by simply scanning a QR code with their smartphone.

The payment is processed directly from the player’s bank account and completes within seconds.

A key advantage of the Trustly Scan & Pay solution is its simplicity for the user; it does not require players to sign up for a specific mobile app, create a digital wallet, or use a traditional player card.

For casino operators, the partnership provides a “plug-and-play” cashless interface that significantly reduces the high costs associated with cash handling, which are estimated to be around 6% of revenue.

The solution is also designed for easy deployment, with Acres’ Universal Payment Adapter being compatible with a wide range of existing slot machines and casino management systems, requiring no major hardware or software upgrades.

The system has already secured regulatory approvals in most major tribal and commercial jurisdictions in the US. The collaboration is set to accelerate the adoption of cashless technology in the land-based casino sector.

With both the technical integration and commercial agreements already executed, with Acres serving as the Merchant of Record, the solution is ready to provide casinos with a modern, secure, and user-friendly alternative to cash.

Noah Acres, COO of Acres:

“The Universal Payment Adapter gives casinos a true plug-and-play cashless interface that requires no additional technology integration and boasts widespread regulatory approvals throughout the United States. By linking it to Trustly Scan & Pay, casinos can offer their players a way to fund games electronically that’s quicker and easier than cash.”

Darren White, Director of Gaming at Trustly:

“Trustly and Acres have executed both technical integration and commercial agreements, the latter enabling Acres to serve as Merchant of Record to Trustly on behalf of casinos.”
