Santos Futebol Clube has ended its search for a primary shirt sponsor by signing a transformative three-year contract with Novibet.
The agreement places the betting platform in the coveted “master” spot on the front of the Peixe jersey, marking one of the most significant commercial milestones in the club’s recent history.
The Participation Model: A New Revenue Frontier
The deal is structured around a R$35 million annual fixed payment, but its true potential lies in a pioneering revenue-sharing mechanism. Santos will receive 25% of all revenue generated by fans who register and bet on the Novibet platform.
Club executives estimate this could drive an additional R$50 million annually, potentially pushing the total contract value to R$85 million per year.
Compliance Over Cash: The ZeroUm Rejection
The path to this partnership was defined by a strict adherence to regulatory standards. Santos reportedly rejected an offer from competitor ZeroUm worth a higher fixed R$80 million per year.
The club’s compliance department vetoed the deal because ZeroUm operates via a provisional injunction, whereas Novibet secured definitive authorization from the Brazilian Ministry of Finance in February 2025.
By choosing Novibet, Santos Futebol Clube has prioritized legal security and long-term stability over immediate cash influx, setting a high standard for corporate governance in Brazilian football.
