The online poker giant PokerStars is celebrating a major milestone as it turns 25, and the company is ensuring the occasion is marked with a significant festival.
The operator has announced a month-long Anniversary Series scheduled to run from May 10 to June 3, 2026, featuring a staggering $50 million in total guarantees.
In addition to turning 25, the PokerStars festival serves as a dual celebration, as it also marks the 15th anniversary of the Sunday Storm, widely regarded as one of the most iconic low-stakes tournaments in the history of online poker.
Steve Clarricoats, Associate Director of Online Scheduling at PokerStars, noted the company’s pride in 25 years of bringing big-money tournaments safely to players worldwide, adding that the $50 million commitment reflects their focus on bringing various tournaments to a global player base.
The Main Events: $6 Million Up for Grabs
The series is anchored by three-tiered Main Events, all of which kick off on May 24. These events are designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of players, from low-stakes grinders to seasoned high rollers:
- Low Main Event: Features a $109 buy-in and a $1,500,000 guarantee.
- Medium Main Event: Offers a $1,050 buy-in with a $2,500,000 guarantee.
- High Main Event: Designed for elite play with a $5,200 buy-in and a $2,000,000 guarantee.
Highlights and Special Features
With 461 tournaments on the schedule, the series provides around-the-clock action across various formats, including Mystery Bounties and PKOs. A standout attraction is the special $11 Sunday Storm 15th Anniversary PKO event, which carries a $500,000 guarantee. Phase 2 of this event will conclude on May 10 to officially launch the festival.
Additional features of the series include:
- Lucky Dips: More than $650,000 in “Lucky Dip” tickets will be awarded throughout the series.
- Leaderboards: A total of $100,000 in cash prizes will be split across Low, Medium, and High tiers, with one player earning the title of Player of the Series.
- Second Chance: Players who miss out initially can participate in PKO “Second Chance” Main Events scheduled for May 31.
Accessibility for Every Bankroll
In line with its “poker for everyone” philosophy, PokerStars has integrated several entry points for players to qualify for major events starting with very small amounts. Satellites begin as low as $0.55, and players can also enter via the Power Path for just $0.50. Furthermore, a revamped $530 Bronze Pass, launching April 27, offers 25% added value and can be redeemed for Anniversary Series ticket bundles.
