Ontario’s regulated iGaming market reached a new landmark in September, recording its second consecutive monthly high with total wagers hitting CA$8.55 billion (US$6.11 billion).
According to the latest data from iGaming Ontario, this figure represents a robust 5% rise from August’s total of CA$8.14 billion and a substantial 30.7% growth compared to September 2024.
This performance solidifies the province’s position as a dominant force in North America’s regulated online gaming space.
The overwhelming bulk of the performance was driven by casino gaming, which alone generated CA$7.34 billion in wagers.
Sports betting followed with CA$1.06 billion, while peer-to-peer poker contributed CA$144 million. Non-adjusted gross revenue for the month totaled CA$329 million, marking the sixth consecutive month where revenue surpassed the CA$300 million benchmark.
Casino gaming remained the primary revenue source, accounting for 84.4% of the monthly total, or CA$277.8 million.
The record wagering was matched by an all-time high of 1.2 million active player accounts in September. While player activity increased, the average revenue per active account saw a slight dip to CA$282, which is the lowest monthly average recorded since February 2025.
Market leaders such as FanDuel and BetRivers continue to propel this growth under the province’s open licensing model.
This sustained momentum builds upon the market’s strong foundation since its opening in April 2022.
Ontario’s consistent, record-setting results during September highlight a mature and thriving iGaming environment, one that successfully balances growth, innovation, and player protection under a robust regulatory model centered on transparency and accountability.
