New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement Reports 20.5% Increase in Revenue

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has reported a total gaming revenue of $614.7 million for May 2025, signalling a strong 20.5% year-on-year increase.

This performance represents the state’s strongest monthly revenue figure recorded so far this year, demonstrating a significant resurgence across all key gaming segments.

The impressive monthly total was propelled by considerable gains in every major sector. Casino win, which encompasses revenue from Atlantic City’s land-based casinos, saw a healthy 10.9% rise to $265.3 million.

This included a 7.5% increase from slot machines, generating $194.8 million, and a notable 21.9% surge from table games, which contributed $70.5 million.

Among the brick-and-mortar venues, Borgata Atlantic City maintained its leading position, reporting $51.1 million in revenue, marking a 14.3% increase. Hard Rock and Ocean Casino also posted strong performances, with revenues of $36.5 million (+10.8%) and $30.2 million (+8.4%), respectively.

Internet gaming (iGaming) revenue continued its powerful upward trajectory, climbing 28.5% year-on-year to reach $246.8 million. Within the competitive online landscape, FanDuel led all operators with $54.4 million in revenue, a substantial 36.1% increase. DraftKings followed with $48.1 million (+13.8%), while BetMGM demonstrated remarkable growth at $32.5 million (+42.7%).

Borgata’s online operations also contributed significantly with $20.8 million, up 15.1%, something that coincides with this iGaming surge, whereas Future Anthem was granted a New Jersey license on June 12, 2025, enabling operators to access its Amplifier AI personalization product, which is poised to further enhance player experiences.

Sports wagering revenue also experienced a significant boost, reaching $102.5 million, a 30.2% increase from the previous year. FanDuel once again topped the sports betting charts with $44.3 million (+20.8%), with DraftKings securing $28.3 million (+28.1%).

Notably, BetFanatics, despite its smaller market share, recorded an exceptional 206.8% increase, bringing in $6.2 million. The total sports betting handle for May surpassed $1 billion, with the vast majority ($967.1 million) placed through online platforms.

The May results signify a sharp recovery and renewed momentum following a more modest performance in April 2025 for the gaming market of New Jersey, where total gaming revenue had risen by just 5% to $536.6 million.

In April, while internet gaming continued to surge, both the land-based casino and sports wagering segments had experienced declines. May’s across-the-board gains underscore the continued expansion and robust health of New Jersey’s diverse iGaming and betting sectors.
