The Korea Sports Promotion Foundation has completed a wide-scale youth protection initiative, executing a targeted gambling education and prevention program on-site at Gwangmyeong High School.
Conducted in direct coordination with the Gwangmyeong Police Station, the automated assembly was delivered to all 880 active students at the institution to mitigate the rising risk profiles of illegal digital betting among minors.
Comprehensive Screening and Adolescent Testing
The technical workshops were anchored by trained behavioral counselors who provided students with empirical real-world examples of offshore betting syndicates, detailed the neurological and cognitive dependencies associated with mobile casino apps, and mapped out actionable prevention steps.
During the session, every student underwent an individual assessment of their personal wagering tendencies using the standardized Campaign for Adolescent Gambling Intervention (CAGI) metric scale.
Furthermore, the multi-agency assembly provided students with direct digital reporting protocols to flag illegal online sportsbooks, alongside routing instructions to access local government counseling infrastructure.
The high school project by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation formed part of a wider, city-wide Youth Month awareness campaign that attracted over 4,000 aggregate participants across alternative locations, including the Gwangmyeong City Youth Centre, as public institutions push to halt illegal digital betting at the earliest adolescent stages.
