Get ready for the 17th edition of the biggest European football tournament and one of the most popular sports played with a ball as the 2024 UEFA European Football Championship, also known as UEFA Euro 2024, is less than ten days away.
Organized by UEFA, this quadrennial football tournament will take place in Germany across 10 cities, and this will mark the third time that this country will host the European Football Championship.
One reason why Germany won the vote and was chosen to be the host is that it has a long list of stadiums that satisfy the minimum capacity criteria of UEFA which requires at least 30,000 seats.
Out of the ten cities, nine were used for the FIFA World Cup 2006 and this includes Munich, Dortmund, Berlin, Stuttgart, Cologne, Leipzig, Hamburg, Gelsenkirchen, and Frankfurt.
The only city that wasn’t part of the 2006 FIFA World Cup but will host the EURO 2024 is Dusseldorf, which interestingly enough was previously used for the FIFA World Cup in 1974 and the UEFA Euro 1988.
This edition of the Euro 2024 tournament will see 24 teams battle for the title “King of Europe”, and out of these 24, 19 have participated in the previous edition of the European Football Championship.

Just as with every major international football tournament in the past twenty years, this year Euro 2024 will be played with an Adidas ball which will be called “Fussballliebe”, which is translated from German and means “Love of Football”.
The opening game of the tournament will be played between the host Germany and Scottland on the 14th of June in Munich, whereas the Euro Finals will be played on the 14th of July in Berlin.
