ESPN Bet Goes Live In Washington D.C. By Partnering With MSE

Penn Entertainment, a leading US gaming entertainment giant, is ready to launch ESPN Bet in Washington DC after the company has secured access in the US capital via a new partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE).

This long-term deal is effective immediately and will enable ESPN Bet to join the ranks of several other online operators that are legally approved to operate in DC, including leading brands such as Caesars, FanDuel, BetMGM, DraftKings, and Fanatics.

According to the official statement issued on the 14th of January, ESPN Bet will also be introduced as the official sports betting partner of MSE and its long list of sports teams. 

This includes the NBA team Washington Wizards, the NHL team Washington Capitals, and the WNBA team Washington Mystics, as well as several other multi-purpose venues that are under the assets portfolio of the MSE.

As part of this historic agreement, ESPEN Bet will work closely with MSE to improve the fan experience via an integrated marketing collaboration, including media and in-arena components, including features such as game broadcasts streamed live on the Monumental Sports Network (MNMT) owned by MSE.

In addition, ESPN Bet and Penn will also benefit from exclusive IP rights for the Wizards, Capitals, and Mystics across both the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races and ESPN Bet.

Moreover, the exclusive marketing element will also include on-the-road advertising, in-arena signage, hospitality and experiences, and a commercial schedule across the MNMT network.

Aaron LaBerge, Chief Technology Officer at Penn Entertainment, commented on the deal and said that this partnership underlines an ongoing strategy of ESPN Bet to further expand in the US gaming market.

At the moment of writing, ESPN Bet is officially live in 19 US states, including Colorado, Arizona, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Indiana, Louisana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia.
