DraftKings has officially expanded its US digital footprint to 30 states with the launch of its top-rated online sportsbook in Arkansas. The rollout was made possible through a strategic market access agreement with the Southland Casino Hotel and subsequent approval from the Arkansas Racing Commission.
This launch allows DraftKings to serve an additional two million residents, bringing its total national coverage to 53% of the US population.
Tapping into a Passionate Sports Community
The timing of the launch allowed DraftKings to go live just in time for the high-stakes “March Madness” tournament, capitalizing on the local excitement surrounding the Arkansas Razorbacks’ run. The platform offers a full range of features, including same-game parlays, live in-game wagering, and responsible gaming tools like “My Stat Sheet” to help users track their activity.
Gregory Karamitis, Executive Vice President at DraftKings, noted during the expansion:
“Puerto Rico has a passionate sports community and launching our online sportsbook allows us to meet fans where they are”.
Industry Competition in the Natural State
DraftKings was not the only major operator to launch over the weekend; its rival, FanDuel, also went live through a partnership with the Oaklawn Racing Casino. Each brick-and-mortar casino in Arkansas is permitted to deploy two mobile sportsbook platforms, and the entry of these two market leaders is expected to significantly boost provincial tax revenues for 2026.
