Sportradar Group AG (NASDAQ: SRAD) has secured a multi-year extension of its data and audiovisual (AV) betting rights agreement with the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB), the German Football Association.
This renewed partnership, which was originally part of Sportradar’s 2025 acquisition of IMG ARENA, grants the technology firm exclusive worldwide data and streaming rights for the DFB-Pokal outside of the DACH region.
Technological Innovation in German Football
The 2026/2027 season will mark a significant technological shift for the competition. For the first time, Sportradar will introduce skeletal data to the DFB-Pokal, mirroring the high-tech engagement products currently used for partners like the NBA and Bundesliga.
The agreement covers all 63 matches per season, utilizing proprietary AI to generate dynamic products like micro markets and live player markets.
Moritz Gloeckler, EVP Rights and Strategic Projects at Sportradar, stated:
“Our extension of the agreement with DFB is a key addition to our already strong portfolio of global soccer rights. With more than five billion soccer fans worldwide, there’s massive appetite for content… Sportradar is well positioned to create the next generation of tech driven products and services.”
Kay Dammholz, Director Media Rights at Deutscher Fussball-Bund, commented on the global impact:
“Together with Sportradar, we are ensuring a professional and safe global distribution of our betting streaming rights outside the DACH region, while upholding the highest standards of integrity and unlocking additional commercial potential for our premium cup competition.”
