In a significant expansion of its educational outreach, Lottopar has successfully concluded a comprehensive sports integrity training session involving more than 100 employees of Club Athletico Paranaense.
The initiative, which spanned two days, was hosted at the Centro de Treinamento do Caju and the Arena da Baixada, marking a proactive step toward safeguarding the ethics of Brazilian sport.
Integrity Beyond the Pitch
The course was intentionally designed to reach beyond the athletes, encompassing administrative and operational personnel. This holistic approach is a cornerstone of Lottopar’s strategy to prevent match-fixing and promote responsible gambling culture across all levels of a sporting organization.
Participants were briefed on the existential importance of integrity for maintaining sports credibility and were warned of the severe consequences of corruption, which include sports sanctions, dismissal for cause, and potential criminal prosecution.
The training highlighted that individuals violating integrity rules face the ultimate penalty: a lifetime exclusion from all professional competitions. To combat these risks, the initiative encouraged the use of official channels to report suspicious activity, positioning preventive action as a professional duty.
Addressing Problem Gambling and Compliance
Another vital pillar of the training focused on identifying and mitigating problem gambling. Lottopar representatives provided staff with tools to detect early signs of addiction, emphasizing that gambling must be managed as a controlled form of entertainment. The session also detailed the national regulatory framework, focusing on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols and Know Your Customer (KYC) identity checks.
