Betty Acquires Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall to Unlock Charitable iBingo in Ontario

Betty’s acquisition of Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall paves the way for a unique iBingo offering that supports local Northern Ontario charities.

In a strategic move to diversify its footprint in Canada’s most populous province, iGaming operator Betty has officially acquired the Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall.

The acquisition, which closed in late 2025, serves as the operational foundation for Betty’s launch into the regulated iBingo sector, making it one of only three operators in Ontario to offer peer-to-peer online bingo.

A Community-First Strategic Pillar

The Kirkland Lake venue has been a cornerstone of Northern Ontario since 1998, serving as both a social hub and a “charitable engine”. Under the new ownership, the hall will retain its name and all four current staff members, while receiving significant upgrades to its technology and facilities.

This acquisition is critical because owning a physical hall allows Betty to operate within Ontario’s charitable gaming framework. Under this model, an undisclosed portion of all Betty’s iGaming revenue in the province, not just from bingo, will be directed to local charities in the Kirkland Lake area.

Chavdar Dimitrov, CEO of Betty, highlighted the long-term vision behind the deal:

Market Momentum and Expansion Plans

The move into iBingo follows a stellar year for Betty, which reported tripling its net revenue to C$13 million and growing its active player base to 134,000 in 2025. Looking ahead, Betty is eyeing the upcoming Alberta regulated market, where it intends to bring its “slots-first” formula and potentially explore further retail innovations.
