Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has initiated the development of a state-run online monitoring system designed to bring greater transparency to the country’s legal gambling market.
The new system aims to track all gambling operations in real time, providing regulators with the tools to shape effective tax policy and reduce activity in the shadow economy.
The platform is being designed to record every bet, log all returns and winnings, and provide open-access data on market volumes, marking a significant step towards modernizing Ukraine’s regulatory framework.
To ensure the system is both efficient and user-friendly, the Ministry has scheduled online public consultations for July 21st, inviting IT companies and other stakeholders to contribute to its design and functionality.
This initiative follows a major overhaul of Ukraine’s gambling governance, led by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The previous regulator, the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL), was recently liquidated by the Cabinet of Ministers and replaced by a new regulatory body known as PlayCity.
The development of this comprehensive monitoring system is one of PlayCity’s first major undertakings, signaling a clear intent to establish a more robust and transparent regulatory environment for the nation’s iGaming industry.
