SJM Resorts has reaffirmed its profound commitment to the economic diversification of Macau by playing an active and prominent role in the 30th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF), which ran from October 22 to 25.
The company’s initiatives during the event were meticulously aligned with the Government’s overarching “1+4” development strategy, which seeks to integrate the core tourism industry with growth sectors such as trade, culture, and technological innovation.
A central element of SJM’s participation was hosting a substantial delegation of over 200 representatives from local and Greater Bay Area business and tourism associations at the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. This large-scale engagement commenced with a special luncheon at The Grand Buffet, followed by an exclusive private viewing of the “Picasso: Beauty and Drama” exhibition.
This presentation, sponsored by SJM, effectively served to highlight Macau’s burgeoning cultural and artistic capabilities to regional stakeholders.
The visiting delegates were also given a comprehensive tour of the resort’s high-end facilities, including the luxury hospitality brands THE KARL LAGERFELD MACAU and Palazzo Versace Macau, alongside key event spaces like The Grand Pavilion and Jardim Secreto. This itinerary successfully underscored SJM’s vital function as a premier venue operator for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions), as well as a significant contributor to the arts and culture sectors.
These efforts directly reinforce the Macau SAR’s ambition to solidify its position as a world-class centre of tourism and leisure.
In a tangible display of local business support, SJM formalised procurement contracts with two Macau-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Furthermore, the company actively participated in themed business matching sessions orchestrated by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), exploring pathways for sustained collaboration and mutual knowledge exchange.
For the seventh consecutive year, SJM also maintained its support for the “ProQ Alliance” initiative, demonstrating its dedication to nurturing youth entrepreneurship programmes in line with government guidance.
SJM’s comprehensive involvement in the MIF and related activities strongly underscores its enduring commitment to cultivating local talent, providing support to SMEs, and fostering innovation across Macau’s integrated tourism and business ecosystem. The company has articulated its intention to continue leveraging its extensive hospitality, cultural, and trade platforms to strengthen regional ties and enhance Macau’s strategic role as a collaborative hub for global investment and international tourism.
