The Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea has officially launched a new legal framework for online gaming, a landmark move designed to establish the nation as a recognized international iGaming jurisdiction.
The “Online Gaming, Online Betting and Online Casino Licensing Framework” provides comprehensive guidelines for international operators seeking to enter the market.
The framework aims to ensure the integrity of gaming operations, protect players, and adhere to the best international compliance practices. It clearly outlines the application process, strict compliance requirements, and financial obligations for all prospective licensees.
In a key strategic decision, the government has granted an exclusive online master licence to Mascott Capital Partners, a specialized licence management company.
Under this model, multinational operators can now submit applications for a gaming licence directly through the Mascott Capital Partners platform.
This centralized system is designed to streamline the application and management process, with both Mascott and its authorized partners using a proprietary system to manage all international licences from a single point of contact.
This structure is intended to create an efficient and attractive environment for top-tier international iGaming companies.
H.E. Antonio-Pedro Oliveira Burupu, the head of Equatorial Guinea’s Ministry for Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure, hailed the initiative as one of the most significant measures ever taken by the country’s gaming regulators.
He stated that the launch represents a major step forward in diversifying Equatorial Guinea’s economy, attracting international investment into the digital sector, and strengthening consumer confidence in remote gaming services.
By creating a regulated and stable environment, the government aims to position Equatorial Guinea as a premier international destination of choice for the global iGaming industry, fostering economic growth and technological development within the nation.
