PokerStars is set to make history this Sunday, June 8, with the launch of the Summer Stacks Women’s Sunday Event, its first-ever women-only online poker tournament.
Scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, this groundbreaking event is open to female players across North America and offers a unique opportunity to compete for a seat at the prestigious North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Women’s Event, taking place this November in Las Vegas.
The initiative is designed to foster inclusivity in a traditionally male-dominated space and marks a significant milestone in PokerStars’ ongoing efforts to support women in poker.
Winners of the event, namely, the top two finishers in each liquidity, will receive an NAPT Women’s Event package valued at $600. The package includes a $330 buy-in to the NAPT Women’s Event and an additional $270 in travel expenses.
Steve Preiss, Director at TSG Interactive, highlighted the broader mission behind the initiative.
We’ve long been supporters of growing the game for women, and this online initiative is another important step. By lowering barriers to entry and offering meaningful rewards, we’re aiming to make the game more accessible, more inclusive, and more exciting for women players across the region.
The Summer Stacks Women’s Sunday Event is part of PokerStars’ wider efforts to diversify its player base and provide a welcoming environment for underrepresented groups in poker.
With high stakes, valuable rewards, and a pathway to a major live event, this tournament is expected to attract significant attention within the North American poker community.
Female players looking to participate can find full details on the PokerStars platform, where registration is currently open.
