PointsBet Canada is significantly bolstering its online casino product offering by signing a new content agreement with game developer Playson.

The partnership will see Playson’s popular “Hold and Win” slot collection integrated into PointsBet’s platform via Light & Wonder’s aggregation service.

This move grants Canadian players access to sought-after titles including Coin Strike: Hold and WinThunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win, and 4 Pots Riches: Hold and Win.

This content deal represents a key strategic move for PointsBet Canada as the company moves past the completed MIXI takeover narrative.

With that chapter closed, the operator is now focusing on strengthening its market position and pursuing new growth, including preparations for a potential launch in Alberta when its iGaming market inevitably goes live.

The emphasis on premium casino content aligns perfectly with PointsBet’s strong financial performance in that vertical.

In its 2025 fiscal year report (for the period ending June 30, 2025), PointsBet Canada’s combined revenue from sports betting and iGaming surged 26% year-over-year to CA39 million (AU42.9 million).

The online casino segment was the primary growth driver, with its net win climbing an impressive 39% to CA23.6 million (AU26 million).

This growth was achieved despite negative VIP variance on slots during the first half of the fiscal year. In comparison, sports betting net win grew 11% to CA15.4 million (AU17 million).

This strategy directly targets the most lucrative segment in Ontario, a highly competitive market where PointsBet has operated since the April 2022 launch.

According to August 2025 data from iGaming Ontario, the market generated CA335 million in total revenue.

Online casino dominated these figures, accounting for a record−high CA267.8 million (an 80% market share) and 89% of the total CA$8.14 billion wagered.

By adding Playson’s proven portfolio, PointsBet is investing directly in the province’s most popular vertical to enhance its product in a market featuring 50 operators.

Brooke Hilton, head of casino at PointsBet Canada, said:

“Partnering with Playson is an exciting step forward for PointsBet. Their Hold and Win collection have already proven popular with players across Ontario, and we are confident it will deliver the engaging, high-quality experiences our players know and expect from PointsBet.”

Conor Jenner, Playson Sales Manager, said:

“Playson has enjoyed tremendous success in Ontario since entering the market in 2022, with our content hitting the sweet spot for the broad range of players across the Canadian province. PointsBet’s trajectory in Ontario is extremely impressive, and we are confident the operator’s player base will welcome our captivating portfolio, comprising immersive gameplay and retention-focused mechanics.”
