PAGCOR Receives Recognition for Government Contributions

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has been officially recognized for its exceptional contributions to the National Government, receiving a prestigious Certificate of Recognition from the Department of Finance (DOF).

This recognition highlights the agency’s vital role as a key fiscal contributor to the Philippine Treasury and its adherence to fiscal responsibility standards that exceed legal requirements.

The honor was conferred during the 2025 Government-Owned or –Controlled Corporations’ (GOCCs) Day, which took place at the historic Malacañan Palace. The award underscores PAGCOR’s stellar financial performance and its significant remitted dividends in the previous fiscal year.

In 2024, PAGCOR contributed a staggering PHP 12.7 billion (equivalent to $200 million) in dividends to the National Treasury.

This remarkable figure represented 75% of PAGCOR’s total annual turnover for the year, significantly surpassing the 50% dividend remittance rate mandated by the Philippine Republic Act.

This performance established PAGCOR as the third-highest remittance contributor among all government-owned corporations in the Philippines for 2024, trailing only the Landbank of the Philippines and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

The agency’s overall financial results for the year were equally impressive, with gross revenue reaching PHP 112 billion, marking a substantial 41% increase year-on-year.

Consequently, the net income more than doubled, soaring to PHP 16.77 billion. The breakdown of revenue by sector revealed the substantial contribution of digital formats, with egames and ebingo generating PHP 48.79 billion, licensed casinos contributing PHP 33.07 billion, and the traditional Casino Filipino venues adding a further PHP 12.67 billion.

In addition to its fiscal contributions, PAGCOR has also demonstrated a commitment to combating illegal activities, recently pledging a sum of PHP 50 million to support the National Bureau of Investigation’s ongoing work to tackle the persistent issue of illegal gaming operations across the archipelago.
