New York online sportsbook operators generated $206.5 million in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) in June 2025, a remarkable 54.2% increase year-over-year.
The strong revenue performance came despite a seasonal dip in wagering, with the state recording a total handle of $1.6 billion for the month.
While this was the lowest monthly handle since August 2024, it still represented a 12% increase compared to June of the previous year.
The results underscore stronger operator win rates heading into the summer. FanDuel once again led the market in profitability, generating $86.3 million in GGR from a $563.7 million handle.
DraftKings posted the highest handle at $607 million but secured a lower GGR of $69.8 million. They were followed by Fanatics Betting and Gaming, which recorded $17.3 million in GGR, and Caesars, with $13.8 million.
In total, the state’s platform providers earned $101.2 million, with $105.3 million directed to New York’s education fund.
June’s performance follows a record-setting May, when operators reported a historic $248.9 million in online GGR.
The subsequent downturn in handle reflects expected seasonal trends with lower betting volumes during the summer months. The state’s retail casino sector also experienced a softer month.
As lawmakers continue to debate key issues, including a potential ban on sweepstakes casinos and the approval of new land-based resorts, all eyes are on whether operators can maintain margin growth through Q3.
