The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission (NRGC) has officially launched the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP) for regulated gaming within the state.
This initiative represents a major step forward in responsible gambling, providing individuals with a streamlined, digital method to protect themselves from gambling-related harm.
Empowering Player Protection
Through this new self-exclusion system, individuals can now voluntarily exclude themselves not just from Nebraska casinos and pari-mutuel wagering, but also from other jurisdictions and gaming products supported by the NVSEP network. The platform simplifies what was once a fragmented process, allowing participants to choose their desired exclusion duration, complete identity verification, and digitally sign and submit their information, all through a single online portal.
Casey Ricketts, Executive Director of the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, highlighted the importance of this collaboration. “The NRGC is excited to join the growing number of regulators coming together to strengthen player protection in the industry as part of the NVSEP platform,” Ricketts stated. “We are committed to improving Responsible Gaming tools and helping individuals and families affected by problem gambling. By participating in idPair’s national program, we are lowering barriers to help and providing support that extends beyond state lines.”
A Unified Approach to Responsible Gaming
The NVSEP initiative addresses a long-standing challenge in the US gambling industry: the difficulty of maintaining self-exclusion across state lines. Previously, a player excluding themselves in one state might still be able to gamble in a neighboring one. By integrating with idPair’s national solution, Nebraska is helping to close these gaps, offering a more robust safety net for vulnerable players.
In addition to the exclusion tools, the program connects users with essential support networks. The official website, www.nvsep.org, provides immediate access to both local and national problem gambling resources, ensuring that exclusion is accompanied by the necessary professional help. This holistic approach ensures that player health remains a priority as the regulated gaming market continues to expand.
