In its latest move to combat illegal online gambling, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has issued cease-and-desist orders to 15 unlicensed operators found to be unlawfully targeting residents of the state.
The board determined that these companies were in violation of several state laws, including the Lawful Internet Gaming Act and the Michigan Penal Code.
This action is part of an ongoing and aggressive enforcement campaign by the MGCB to protect consumers and the integrity of Michigan’s regulated gaming market.
Among the operators directed to immediately halt any Michigan-based activity are 7 Bit Casino, Avia Games Inc., Grande Vegas Casino, High Country Casino, PrimaPlay Casino, Slot Madness, and Vegas Casino Online.
Failure to comply with the orders could lead to further legal action in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Attorney General.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams issued a stern warning to illicit operators, emphasizing the risks they pose to the public.
These unlawful operators try to present themselves as legitimate entertainment options, but they offer zero player protections, no accountability and a real risk to consumers. Our message is simple: If you want to offer gambling in Michigan, follow the law or we will stop you. We will continue to work aggressively to keep illegal gambling out of our state.
This latest wave of enforcement follows the MGCB’s largest action to date, which took place on July 2 when the regulator sent 19 similar cease-and-desist letters to other unlicensed online operators.
The sustained crackdown underscores the board’s commitment to safeguarding players from predatory platforms that operate outside of Michigan’s legal framework.
While the MGCB is actively shutting down illegal sites, the state’s regulated market continues to expand, highlighted by recent developments such as the launch of a new branded live dealer studio by Caesars Entertainment in July.
