International Game Technology (IGT), one of the biggest global tech suppliers in iGaming, has signed a seven-year extension deal with Thuringian State Lottery (Lotto Thüringen) from Germany.

As per the details of the deal, IGT will implement its cutting-edge Aurora upgraded software and central lottery system in a bid that will see Lotto Thüringen significantly boost its lotto offerings and improve user experience.

IGT will roll out the new system in March 2026 with the purpose of enhancing efficiency and modernizing the operations of Lotto Thüringen. The new and upgraded platform will improve several features, including game management, operational efficiency, and transaction processing.

Aurora is a platform that is a component of IGT’s state-of-the-art omnichannel solution Omnia, which was specifically designed to streamline game management, back-office functions, and transaction processing.

Created with a plethora of advanced tools and reporting capacities, the Omnia platform is set to transform the German lottery and help Lotto Thüringen meet the ever-evolving operational needs that are essential for growth and enhancing user experience.

Jochen Staschewski, Chief Executive Officer of Lotto Thüringen, commented on the renewal of the partnership and said that by integrating IGT’s advanced platform, the lottery provider will be able to continue “operating with the highest levels of efficiency”.

Lotto Thüringen has relied on IGT’s versatile and strong-performing central system technology throughout the course of our decades-long relationship. Upgrading our central retail system to IGT’s advanced platform and back-end software will enable us to streamline our business processes and continue operating with the highest levels of efficiency.

Jay Gendron, IGT Chief Operating Officer, Global Lottery, commented:

IGT’s retail central system incorporates a suite of flexible solutions designed to help manage, transform and further grow Lotto Thüringen’s business. With this long-term contract extension, Lotto Thüringen is well-positioned to continue benefiting from IGT’s secure, responsible and modernized technology and software. Leveraging these best-in-class solutions will aid in the Lottery’s goals of supporting good causes throughout the state.

This news comes after a period where IGT is in the process of modernizing lottery platforms. In fact, yesterday the company signed a ten-year-long deal with Loterie Nationale, Luxembourg’s national lottery, in a deal that involved similar cutting-edge technological upgrades.
