Scientific Games (SG) has announced the successful completion of a comprehensive, multi-year system conversion campaign for Lotto New Zealand.

This landmark project has seen the supplier’s full suite of modern lottery products and technologies introduced across Lotto NZ’s entire digital and retail landscape as part of a major modernization strategy.

The technological overhaul involved the integration of SG’s complete ecosystem, including its central gaming system, new retail point-of-sale terminals, and advanced account management and retail management systems.

This has effectively modernized Lotto New Zealand’s entire network of 1,100 retailers across the nation. In addition to the retail and systems upgrade, the supplier’s SG Studios portfolio of online games has also been introduced to the Lotto NZ digital platform.

This complex switchover was the culmination of a two-year project and represents the latest evolution in a long and successful partnership between the two companies, with SG having served as Lotto NZ’s exclusive provider since 1989.

The rollout was assisted by a collaborative effort with Lotto NZ’s IT consultant partner, Datacom.

The upgrade is seen as a crucial step in future-proofing Lotto New Zealand‘s operations, setting the stage for further transformation and enhanced player experiences in the years to come.

For Scientific Games, this successful global effort closely follows a similar large-scale systems technology conversion completed last month for Allwyn UK, reinforcing its position as a world leader in lottery technology modernization.

Jason Delamore, CEO of Lotto NZ:

“We’ve modernised our digital and retail platforms, together with the way we’re delivering game entertainment. This sets the stage for more transformation and exceptional player experiences for years to come. On behalf of our players and retailers, and most importantly good cause beneficiaries throughout New Zealand, we are excited to be well-positioned for the future. Scientific Games’ collaboration with our teams throughout this enormous undertaking has made our tech upgrade a win for our customers, our retailers and NZ Inc through our important community contributions.”

Patrick McHugh, CEO of Scientific Games:

“We commend Lotto New Zealand’s leadership and teams for their future-forward vision and thank all our Scientific Games technologists and project team members around the globe who worked diligently to plan and execute this systems conversion. The technology upgrade for Lotto New Zealand was truly a global effort and inspiring for the many projects currently underway for Scientific Games lottery customers around the world.”
