The Gaming Control Authority of Lithuania, operating under the Ministry of Finance, has intensified its efforts to curb unlicensed online gambling by adding more domains to its national blacklist.
The regulatory body has instructed internet service providers (ISPs) within the Republic of Lithuania to block access to these newly added websites, bringing the total number of restricted domains to 1,910.
This latest enforcement action, which took place on Thursday, July 3rd, specifically targeted five domains operated by the company GALAKTIKA N.V.
The blacklisted sites, flagman.casino and four of its variations, were found to be offering services to Lithuanian citizens without the required local license.
Under the nation’s Gaming Law, the Control Authority is empowered to mandate DNS and payment blocking to prevent such illegal operations.
The extensive blacklist already includes domains associated with major international operators, underscoring the country’s strict licensing enforcement.
This move to fortify the digital border against unlicensed gambling coincides with broader regulatory changes within Lithuania, encouraged by the Gaming Control Authority of Lithuania.
The country is currently in the initial phase of implementing a comprehensive ban on gambling advertising, a process expected to conclude with a full prohibition by 2028.
The first stage of these advertising restrictions imposes strict time limits on television and radio spots and prohibits online ads from directly linking to gambling websites.
These parallel actions highlight a clear and determined strategy by Lithuanian authorities to tighten control over the national gaming market, prioritizing licensed and compliant operations while restricting the visibility and accessibility of all forms of gambling.
