Light & Wonder has entered a nationwide deal with Mecca Bingo in a bid to upgrade the gaming infrastructure across all 50 of its venues in the UK.
As part of the agreement, Light & Wonder will supply 850 new Equinox gaming terminals and upgrade 645 existing T8 cabinets with advanced Mk8i hardware.
By conducting this upgrade of the hardware, the collaboration aims to boost long-term technical performance and support an expansion of content offerings.
This development is part of a bigger partnership between Light & Wonder and Mecca Bingo, a deal that also includes the implementation of Light & Wonder’s Videobet platform.
More specifically, the system is purposefully designed to enable a smooth technological transition in the midst of the expected regulatory updates that will very likely affect the UK land-based gaming sector.
Light & Wonder commented on the development and stated that this deployment will ensure greater hardware consistency across Mecca’s estate while supporting games in the B3, B4, and Category C segments.
As a result, some of its most popular titles, such as Rainbow Riches Blazing Lock, are already live on the new systems, with early reports showing an increased player engagement and improved revenue growth.
