LeoVegas Group, one of the most well-known and reputable iGaming brands in the industry, has joined the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) with the purpose of bolstering its presence in key regions while simultaneously contributing to important initiatives.
By joining the EGBA, LeoVegas shows its dedication to industry cooperation and, more importantly, the improvement of shared standards regarding crucial issues in online gambling.
As a result of this progressive move, LeoVegas intends to champion better representation in some of Europe’s key markets, with an emphasis on the Nordics, all while playing a significant role in fundamental initiatives that contribute to responsible gambling and regulatory compliance.
LeoVegas will assume a pivotal role in the working groups and initiatives of EGBA. This means that the operator will focus on principal areas such as safer gambling, responsible advertising, and the integration of the latest European Anti-Money Laundering (EU AML) laws concerning the digital sector.
One of these key initiatives is the Safer Gambling Week campaign by the European Gaming and Betting Association, a project that broke records in 2024, considering that it engaged 30% more users when compared to last year.
Carl Brincat, Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at LeoVegas Group, commented on the significance of the partnership, stating that it perfectly represents their “vision of leading the way towards a sustainable” industry:
As a company committed to safer gambling and technological innovation, we look forward to contributing our expertise to EGBA’s important work. This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of leading the way towards a sustainable and well-regulated gambling industry in Europe.
Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, highlighted the excitement with the prospect of collaborating with a leading brand such as LeoVegas Group, consequently welcoming the operator to the association:
We’re delighted to welcome LeoVegas Group to EGBA’s membership and pleased to close the year with another new member. As a leader in our industry and with a strong Nordic market presence, LeoVegas Group brings valuable expertise to our association and will enhance our collective efforts to promote a well-regulated and sustainable gambling sector in Europe. We look forward to working closely with our new colleagues on our shared commitment to high industry standards.
Thanks to the partnership between LeoVegas Group and EGBA, Europe marks a major step toward improving responsible gambling practices and nurturing a sustainable, well-regulated online gambling industry across the Old Continent.
