Jacob Kaplan, the long-serving Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Evolution has stepped down from the position after leading the financial sector of this leading iGaming studio for more than nine years.
Kaplan has served as the Chief Financial Officer at Evolution ever since he first joined the company in 2016, holding the title of the number one man in the financial sector for almost ten years.
Prior to his tenure as the CFO at Evolution, Kaplan occupied the same position at Nordnet Bank, a Stockholm-based pan-Nordic digital bank that operates in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.
Soon after Kaplan handed his resignation, Evolution appointed Joakim Andersson as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company, an individual with extensive experience with senior roles across multiple sectors.
Andersson, a newcomer to the iGaming industry, yet experienced in the field of finances and economics, will assume his new role as the CFO of Evolution effective from 18th February 2025.
Andersson’s most recent job included working as the CFO at Slättö, a Nordics-focused real estate private equity firm. Prior to this, Andersson worked as the CFO at Cint Group, a Swedish software development company.
Before this, Andersson worked at Banque Invik Luxembourg Filial and occupied senior roles with Nasdaq Stockholm-listed investment business Kinnevik.
The new CFO Joakim Andersson expressed excitement about the prospect of working together with the “talented team” at Evolution:
I’m excited to share that, as of 18 February, I am beginning a new chapter in my career as the Chief Financial Officer at Evolution. I’m looking forward to collaborating with the talented team at Evolution to further strengthen the company’s financial position and continue delivering value to its stakeholders.
At the same time, the CEO of Evolution Martin Carlesund, bid farewell to Jacob and thanked him for his contribution to growing the Evolution brand, and welcomed Andersson as the new member of the team and the company’s new CFO, highlighting his extensive experience:
I want to thank Jacob for his work and contribution to the development of Evolution into the group we are today. He has been an integral part of our management team and played a key role in our expansion and mission to improve the company each day. We wish him all the best in the future. At the same time, I am very much looking forward to working with Joakim. He has a strong background as an accomplished CFO and will strengthen our team and help the company take the next steps in its development.
