The Brazilian financial technology company iugu has officially joined the International Betting Integrity Association’s (IBIA) Payment Provider Forum.
This move signals a strong commitment from the firm to enhance transparency and combat fraud within the rapidly expanding Brazilian sports betting industry.
The Payment Provider Forum was established by the IBIA as a collaborative initiative to safeguard the betting market from financial crimes associated with the manipulation of sporting events.
Member organizations sign a formal Declaration of Commitment and Participation, pledging to uphold the highest standards of integrity, adopt best practices for transparency, and implement robust monitoring activities to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.
This development is especially timely for Brazil, where the betting market is experiencing explosive growth.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat for Prizes and Betting (SPA), a staggering 17.7 million Brazilians placed bets on websites or apps in the first half of 2025 alone.
As a member, iugu is now authorized to display the IBIA Payment Provider Forum kitemark, which serves as a public symbol of its adherence to the initiative’s rigorous integrity standards.
The partnership aligns with IBIA’s recently launched “Mission 2030,” a five-year strategic plan aimed at strengthening global sports betting integrity.
