IBIA Unveils ‘Mission 2030’ Integrity Initiative

The International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) has formally launched a comprehensive, long-term initiative called ‘Mission 2030,’ a five-year strategic roadmap designed to significantly enhance its global contribution to sports betting integrity.

Coinciding with the association’s 20th anniversary, the program is built upon three specific pillars of action, each targeting distinct challenges and opportunities within the expansive sports betting industry. This forward-looking plan aims to ensure that integrity measures remain robust and adaptive in a rapidly evolving market landscape.

The first pillar of Mission 2030 focuses on technological advancement and detection. The IBIA has committed to further enhancing its sophisticated monitoring and alerts platform.

The core goal here is to improve the speed and accuracy of detecting suspicious wagering activity across all monitored sports and markets, thereby providing an even more effective early warning system for its members and partners.

The second pillar centers on collaborative support for investigations. The association intends to proactively assist in any formal integrity investigations by governmental, regulatory, or sporting bodies.

This support will be delivered through the strategic expansion of its ongoing partnerships and the provision of high-level integrity expertise. The ultimate aim is to ensure that the process of prosecuting or sanctioning those involved in match-fixing or corruption is as efficient and effective as possible.

Finally, the third pillar addresses prevention and policy engagement. The IBIA is underlining its intention to provide impactful initiatives for player education, aiming to foster a culture of integrity from the grassroots up.

Simultaneously, the association will work diligently to advance prevention-related regulation and policy engagement with governments and regulators worldwide. This proactive approach seeks to close any regulatory gaps that might be exploited by criminal elements.

This new commitment follows the release of key performance data that underscores the IBIA’s crucial role. The association’s annual integrity report for 2024 highlighted 219 suspicious betting alerts over the course of the year. More recently, the IBIA reported a total of 63 betting alerts during the first quarter of 2025, which represents an 11% increase compared to the corresponding period in the prior year.
