The sports data and technology company Genius Sports has entered into a landmark multi-year partnership with the European Leagues Association, securing exclusive official betting data rights for a vast portfolio of professional football competitions.

This significant agreement makes Genius Sports the sole provider of official, high-quality data from these leagues to its global network of regulated sportsbook partners, greatly enhancing its football content offering.

The comprehensive deal is impressive in its scale, covering over 8,000 matches annually from 46 professional men’s and women’s competitions.

This includes 18 member leagues such as the Belgian Pro League, the Dutch Eredivisie, the Portuguese Liga, the Norwegian Professional Football League, and the Swedish Elitfotboll, which collectively represent more than 1,170 clubs across 34 countries.

This consolidation of rights establishes Genius Sports’ official data feed as one of the most extensive and valuable in European football.

Beyond the distribution of betting data, the partnership involves a deep technological integration that sets a new standard for such agreements.

Genius Sports will deploy its advanced, AI-powered GeniusIQ platform across European football stadiums. This system offers leagues a suite of powerful tools for performance tracking, sophisticated officiating analysis, and deep team performance insights for coaching staff.

The platform is already successfully deployed in major competitions like the Premier League, demonstrating its value at the highest level of the sport.

Alberto Colombo, General Secretary of the European Leagues Association, commented on the agreement.

This landmark deal with Genius Sports reflects both the evolution of the sports data market but also the way technology will play an increasingly intertwined role in the way commercial deals come to fruition.

Steven Burton, Chief Partnerships Officer at Genius Sports, added:

This expanded partnership with the European Leagues significantly enhances the breadth and depth of official, premium data available to our sportsbook partners. More importantly, it reflects a fundamental shift in the rights model, where technology investment resets traditional frameworks and creates a longer runway for future sales and revenue opportunities.
