The UK division of Flutter, which includes more than 5,000 employees employed at renowned brands such as Betfair, Paddy Power, and Sky Betting & Gaming, is on the path to raising more than $502,151 (£375,000) for charity.
This noble cause was inspired by and in memory of James Blackburn, a Sky Betting & Gaming employee who passed away after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in April 2023, and the reason why Flutter selected Pancreatic Cancer UK as its Charity of the Year for 2025.
After the massive success of its 2024 campaign, which saw the leading Flutter donate £375,000 to Cure Leukemia, the company set its goals even higher by aiming to raise an even bigger amount in 2025.
At the same time, the Flutter division in Dublin is raising funds to support a different charity, namely the National Maternity Hospital Foundation. More specifically, the Dublin staff of Flutter intends to raise funds and support excellence, innovation, and research in neonatal and women’s health.
In fact, Flutter Ireland managed to raise $798,121 (€700,000) for the Children’s Ambulance Service of Ireland, BUMBLEance, and Spinal Injuries Ireland, for two years in a row now, consequently showing its ongoing support for local charities and justifying its reputation as a brand that gives back to the community.
Steve Birch, Sky Betting & Gaming, Tobmola and Trading Chief Commercial Officer, commented on this development:
We were overwhelmed by the number of nominations for Pancreatic Cancer UK, and continue to be inspired by the passion colleagues have shown in their efforts to raise awareness and support this charity. It is clear this year-long partnership will continue to hold a special place in our hearts as we remember those touched by this brutal disease every step of the way.
Kevin Harrington, Flutter Chief Executive Officer for UK & Ireland, said that raising funds for the National Maternity Hospital Foundation is due to the personal connection that many Flutter employees have with the hospital, highlighting his pride in the fact that 1,500+ people are willing to contribute to this noble cause:
Many Flutter employees have a personal connection to The National Maternity Hospital – whether they were born there themselves, have had a baby there, or know someone who has received care at The National Maternity Hospital, so raising funds for its Foundation is a cause close to everyone’s hearts. We have almost over 1,500 people working out of our Dublin office, and their motivation to engage with the regular fundraising efforts for this Foundation is something I’m really proud to witness personally, and it’s something I hope our colleagues take huge pride in too.
