The Florida Lottery has revealed that since Wednesday, there have been four new millionaires in the state, three of whom won the jackpots via scratch-off tickets.
The first winner on this list was a man from Valrico, who the Florida State said had won $1 million from the lottery office in the Tampa District. According to the official report of the lottery, 67-year-old Roger Shackelford won the prize by purchasing a $5 scratch-off ticket from Millionaire Maker.
Shackelford purchased the ticket from Publix, located at 3461 Lithia Pinecrest Road in Valrico, and the ship that sold the winning ticket was given a one-time $2,000 bonus.
According to the lottery, the winner opted out to receive his prize as a one-time payment of $640,000.
Ever since Millionaire Maker was launched in May 2024, the lottery operator has handed out a total of $79 million in prizes and released six $1 million prizes.
During the same day, the Florida Lottery also revealed that 61-year-old Harold Rilely, a man from Jacksonville, claimed another $1 million prize. Riley won the $1 million prize by purchasing a scratch-off game from the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular lottery.
The ticket from this lottery game costs $50 and gives players a chance to win one of the 234 $1 million prizes.
Similarly to Shackelford, Riley decided to claim the lump sum of $640,000, and he purchased the winning ticket from RK’s Food Mart on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville. The store that sold the winning ticket was given a $2,000 one-time bonus.
One day prior to this, a 36-year-old woman named Jennifer Gil won $2 million from the Jackpot Triple Play lottery. Unlike the previous winners, Gil won the prize from the Jackpot Triple Play draw, which took place on the 22nd of October, 2024.
Moreover, Gil also decided to claim a one-time option payment of $1,224,349, and she purchased the ticket from Fresco Y Mas #389 Liquor, which is located at 18302 Southwest 137th Avenue in Miami. The shop that sold the ticket received a $1,000 one-time bonus for the winning ticket.
Finally, the Florida Lottery revealed that 68-year-old Clewiston resident J Guadalupe Leon had been awarded another $1 million prize. More specifically, Leon purchased the $50 500x The Cash winning scratch-off ticket that he bought from Ahern’s Service Center & Conv Store, located at 1198 US 27 North in Moore Haven.
Just like all winners on this list, Leon decided to claim a one-time payment of $640,000, while the store that sold the winning ticket received a one-time $2,000 bonus.
The prize pool of the 500X The Cash lottery game has a mind-blowing prize pool of $1.66 billion, and even more staggering, a $25 million top prize, which is coincidently the largest jackpot you can win from a scratch-off in the history of Florida.
