Leading game developer Expanse Studios has been granted authorization by the Croatian Ministry of Finance to enter the booming market of Croatia, and above all, launch its flagship game, “Super Heli,” in the country.
This certification marks the company’s official entry into Croatia’s regulated online gaming market and paves the way for further expansion in the region.
“Super Heli,” a popular crash-style game, is the first title from Expanse Studios’ 56-game portfolio to receive approval for distribution in Croatia.
The company has indicated that it expects more of its games to be certified for launch in the coming weeks, targeting not only Croatia but other European Union member states as well.
This move allows Expanse Studios to tap into a lucrative and rapidly growing market. In 2024, Croatia’s iGaming sector generated approximately $484.7 million in revenue and is projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 8.4% through 2030.
This growth is driven by several key factors, including an increase in national internet penetration, which rose from 76% in 2020 to 83% in 2023.
The market has also been boosted by a surge in tourism following Croatia’s accession to the Schengen Zone, which saw 20.6 million tourist arrivals last year. Furthermore, projections show that the number of Croatian residents who gamble online regularly is expected to exceed 500,000 by 2027.
This certification positions Expanse Studios to capitalize on these strong growth trends within one of Europe’s promising iGaming markets.
Damjan Stamenkovic, CEO of Expanse Studios, said:
Croatia certification is more than market access—it’s validation of our content quality and compliance capabilities in demanding EU jurisdictions. With our flagship title Super Heli already approved and more games in the pipeline, we’re very excited for the opportunities this market brings us.
