Entain, a globally renowned international sports betting and gambling company, has appointed David Satz as the new Senior Independent Director with immediate effect. This development comes after a period of several major leadership changes at Entain.

In addition to serving as a Non-Executive Director since 2020, David Satz is also a member of the Audit Committee and serves as Chair of the Sustainability & Compliance Committee.

Moreover, Pierre Bouchut, Interim Chair, has now stepped down from their previous tenure on the Audit Committee and has now assumed the position of Chair for both the People & Governance Committees and Capital Allocation.

In addition, Interim CEO Stella David has stepped down from her positions within the Sustainability & Compliance and Capital Allocation, People & Governance Committees, while Helen Ashton has become a member of the Capital Allocation Committee.

These significant board and leadership changes come after a time of transition for Entain, particularly the resignation of CEO Gavin Isaacs five months after he was named Chief Executive Officer, a move that saw Entain’s stock price drop by 10% the same day.

Following Isaacs’ resignation just five months into the role, Stella David was appointed Interim CEO, a development that marks her second tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Entain in little over a year.

As to who will take over the role of CEO of Entain permanently, there are two main candidates for the job, both of whom are reputable individuals from within the iGaming sector: Entain CFO Rob Wood and BetMGM CEO Adan Greenblatt.

The only thing that we remain to see is whether the company will announce the new permanent CEO prior to the release of its FY24 financial report scheduled for the 6th of March.
