DraftKings Stock Tumbles Despite Meeting 2025 Financial Targets

DraftKings Q4 2025 delivers, but stocks still drop.

DraftKings delivered a solid performance for Q4 of 2025, but its shares suffered a dramatic sell-off after the Boston-based operator issued 2026 guidance that fell short of market expectations.

Total revenue for 2025 reached $6 billion, representing a 27% year-on-year increase, while Q4 revenue alone hit $1.989 billion. However, the company’s 2026 revenue forecast of $6.5 billion to $6.9 billion trailed the $7.29 billion analysts had hoped for, leading the stock to drop 14.6% in post-market trading.

Betting on Predictions for Future Growth

CEO and Co-Founder Jason Robins remains confident in the company’s “defensive” shift toward new markets to maintain its edge against emerging competitors. In a statement accompanying the quarterly report, Robins noted:

“We closed 2025 on a high note. Fourth quarter revenue increased 43% year-over-year and we achieved records for revenue and Adjusted EBITDA. Our core business is strong as we enter 2026.”

Robins is particularly focused on the burgeoning sector of prediction markets as a primary driver for customer acquisition:

“We also see a massive, incremental opportunity in DraftKings Predictions. We plan to deploy growth capital to build the best customer experience in Predictions, and acquire millions of customers. We have the playbook to execute and win.”

Navigating Market Volatility

DraftKings faced significant headwinds in late Q4 2025 due to “customer-friendly” sports outcomes, which impacted overall margins. Management previously noted a $300 million headwind from these sports results, leading to a downward revision of guidance.

Despite these challenges, DraftKings continues to lean on high-margin products like Same Game Parlays (SGPs), which account for a massive portion of online sportsbook profits, and the cash-flow-positive Jackpocket lottery app to bolster its balance sheet.
