If I had a coin for every dragon-themed slot I’ve spun, I’d probably have enough to buy my own hoard. Reign of Dragons – Frozen Inferno is Silverback Gaming’s attempt to do something semi-fresh in an extremely tired genre — and honestly, I didn’t hate it.
First off, yes, it’s dragons. Again. But at least these ones aren’t just breathing fire and calling it a day. The “Frozen Inferno” twist gives the whole thing an icy edge — literally. You’ve got fire and ice dragons battling for screen space, which, thematically, adds just enough flavor to keep you from checking out mentally.
The game plays on a 5×4 grid with 1,024 ways to win. RTP sits at a respectable 96.1%, and volatility is on the higher end — not exactly brutal, but enough to make your balance yo-yo if you’re not paying attention. Bets range from €0.20 to €20, which is fair but not exactly high-roller territory.
Now, the main sell here is the four dragon bonus features, which are randomly triggered. You’ve got things like symbol upgrades, wild reels, multipliers — basically the usual suspects dressed up in elemental cosplay. They’re not game-changers, but they do hit often enough to make the base game bearable. And when they chain together just right, there’s genuine potential to build momentum.
