IGT has entered into a significant, multi-year agreement with Corporación Caliente that will see its IGT PlaySports technology and services deployed across more than 140 retail sportsbook locations in Mexico and throughout Latin America.
The landmark deal represents one of IGT’s most extensive retail-focused sports betting partnerships in the region to date and will significantly enhance Caliente’s retail sports betting footprint.
The initial phase of the agreement will involve upgrading 42 of Caliente’s existing venues in Mexico with IGT’s advanced technology.
Following the initial rollout in Mexico, the partnership will extend to over 100 additional locations across eight other countries in the region, including Argentina, Brazil, Panama, and Uruguay.
The comprehensive agreement includes the provision of IGT’s full suite of retail hardware and software, as well as its expert trading advisory services, providing Caliente with a complete, turnkey solution.
This will allow Caliente to “level-up its betting offering,” according to its CEO, Eduardo Hernández Triana, who cited IGT’s vast global experience and the reliability of the PlaySports platform as key factors in the decision.
For IGT, the deal marks a major expansion of its technology and service footprint in the rapidly growing Latin American market. Joe Bertolone, SVP of Sports Betting at IGT, expressed his excitement about the partnership.
The announcement comes after a year of strategic transformation for IGT, which now operates as a combined entity following its $6.3 billion merger with Everi, completed in July 2025.
The new, restructured IGT, led by incoming CEO Hector Fernandez, is expected to continue its expansion across both land-based and digital channels, with this Caliente deal serving as a powerful statement of its ambitions in the global retail sports betting sector.
