Gemma Fletcher has officially been appointed as the new Executive Director at the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC), stepping into the role following a leadership transition. Fletcher brings a wealth of internal experience to the position, having dedicated the last decade to leading the Commission’s supervisory function and working closely with her predecessor in recent years.
Commitment to Integrity and Regulatory Excellence
Upon her appointment, Fletcher emphasized the importance of maintaining the jurisdiction’s long-standing reputation for regulatory compliance and trust.
“Alderney has a reputation for integrity that has been built over more than 25 years. My priority is to make sure our performance continues to match that reputation.”
Reflecting on her tenure and the team’s collective achievements, Fletcher added:
“I am fortunate to have served the Commission for the last 10 years leading the supervisory function and working alongside my predecessor, Andrew Gellatly, in more recent years. I am extremely proud of our achievements as a team and look forward to continuing that success.”
Outgoing Leadership Reflection
Andrew Gellatly departs the position after four years steering the regulatory body. Reviewing his time in the Channel Islands, Gellatly said:
“After four years as executive director of the AGCC and four brilliant years in the Channel Islands, I’m moving on from the small but potent regulator. It’s been a privilege to have worked at the AGCC.”
