Fennica Gaming, a subsidiary of the Finnish gaming operator Veikkaus, has obtained a gaming vendor licence by the by the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) to legally operate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This new licence allows Fennica to offer its portfolio of games as a service to licensed operators in the country, marking a significant expansion for the company into a new continent and market.

The move further strengthens Fennica Gaming’s international presence which currently spans three continents and 15 countries.

In fact, just recently, the company has obatined a B2B licence in Greece by the Hellenic Gambling Commission, a move that reflects its ongoing expansion in regulated gaming markets.

Timo Kiiskinen, Managing Director at Fennica Gaming, welcomed the development, stating:

Receiving the gaming related vendor licence from the GCGRA is a significant step for Fennica Gaming as we continue to grow our global presence. The UAE represents a new dynamic market and for us a possibility to enter a new continent and new markets. We are excited to contribute to the development of its regulated gaming sector with our trusted and innovative solutions.

Fennica Gaming joins a growing list of esteemed suppliers that have entered the UAE market, and this includes industry giants such as Scientific Games, Aristocrat, IGT, and Novomatic, all of which recently received licences to provide their services in the booming market of UAE.

Speaking of licensees allowed to operate in the country, the first official licence was granted to The Game LLC in July 2024, followed by Wynn Resorts in October 2024.

Wynn had already started construction of its casino resort after first announcing the project back in 2022.
