Two decades of leadership in international racing
Ben Hutton has concluded a twenty year career with Entain and its corporate predecessors. Having started with the Gala Coral Group in August 2005 as head of international racing product, Hutton steered the division through multiple corporate evolutions, including transformations into Ladbrokes Coral, GVC Group, and ultimately Entain. Throughout his tenure, he directed the group international racing operations.
His exit coincides with broader industry discussions regarding fiscal pressures on the UK racing sector, following warnings from Entain and the Betting and Gaming Council concerning potential rises in Machine Games Duty.
Transition to Pythia Sports
Stepping away from the operator environment, Hutton is transitioning to the B2B supplier sector. He will assume the position of head of trading at Pythia Sports.
Reflecting on his departure via professional social media, Ben Hutton stated:
“After 20 years, this week is my last one working for the wonderful Entain.”
Hutton added:
“This company, and specifically the international racing product, has been my life and baby for a very long time, so it’s going to be very weird for that to no longer be the case.”
Commenting on his upcoming role, he noted:
“I’m very excited to be joining Pythia Sports next week as head of trading, merging my bookmaker experience with the supplier side of the industry.”
He further described the opportunity as a “very different challenge after 20 years on one side of the fence, and one I’m really looking forward to.”
