Merkur Gaming US has officially re-entered the Nevada gaming market after being granted a licence by the Nevada Gaming Commission.

The approval authorises the company to manufacture and distribute gaming equipment within the state, reaffirming its presence in one of the most prominent regulated casino markets worldwide.

The green light also includes approval for the Merkur Group’s acquisition of Gaming Arts LLC, a Las Vegas-based, fully licensed gaming operator. The transaction is expected to be finalised in the third quarter of 2025, pending remaining regulatory and contractual conditions.

Merkur Group originally held a Nevada licence in 1998 but exited the US market in the early 2000s. This latest development marks the company’s formal return to the American gaming landscape with certified operations.

Michael Gauselmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Merkur Group, commented on the approval, saying:

With approval from Nevada, this moment serves to highlight and underscore the Merkur Group’s legally compliant and forward-looking approach in all areas without exception.

Merkur Group operates across more than 90 countries globally. The acquired Gaming Arts, meanwhile, holds licences in over 155 jurisdictions, bringing strong market access and regulatory experience to the deal.

Lars Felderhoff, Chairman of the Management Board at Merkur Group, commented:

This license represents a key strategic lever for expanding our international business and lays the foundation for a stable and successful long-term future for the entire Group.

The development coincides with wider growth across the Nevada gaming sector. Kambi, for example, recently secured approval to provide sportsbook technology in the state, reflecting increased momentum among international gaming companies seeking to capitalise on Nevada’s market opportunities.

Merkur’s strategic comeback is poised to strengthen its footprint in the US and support broader expansion efforts.
