Leadership elections and regional federation setup
Dragan Skrbić, president of the Serbian gaming association AGOS, has been elected as the first president of the Balkan Gaming Federation. The federation convened on September 29 for a two-day programme hosted in Bucharest, Romania, conducting official leadership elections on the second day of the itinerary. Alongside Skrbić, Filip Jelavić, secretary general of Croatian association Hupis, and Sorin Georgescu, president of Romanian Romslot and vice president of Fedbet, were elected as vice presidents.
The establishment of the formal leadership structure marks a key milestone following the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation six months prior.
Commenting on the transition, the BGF stated via LinkedIn:
“Six months after the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation, the Federation is entering the next stage of its development with an established leadership structure and its first joint initiatives.”
Euromat collaboration and public debut
The executive board of Euromat participated in the Bucharest programme, holding a working dinner with BGF representatives on the first day of the event. Euromat president Jason Frost also attended the BGF leadership election to observe the proceedings and support regional cooperation.
The newly elected leadership team is scheduled to make its joint public appearance at the upcoming Gaming Industry Gala Dinner – New Horizons, set to take place on November 24 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event will provide a platform for the newly formed federation to outline its strategic roadmap and collaborative initiatives across the Balkan gaming sector.
