We have an exclusive sneak peek behind the curtains as SiGMA released an all-access, captivating documentary that reveals the high-stakes drama behind organizing one of the most prestigious iGaming events on the planet.
The SiGMA Group is known for its world-renowned reputation as the entity that organizes some of the biggest and most visited iGaming events on the global iGaming scene. This is most evident if you take a look at SiGMA Europe 2024, the gaming conference that shattered attendance records and an event that marked an important milestone which saw SiGMA celebrate its 10th anniversary.
This captivating documentary by SiGMA unveils the dedication required to navigate through challenging tasks in order to bring this extraordinary event to life. From navigating unpredictable weather to logistics coordination and meticulous venue planning, this insightful documentary captures the tenacity required to accomplish all those demanding tasks that culminate in one of the biggest iGaming conferences in the world.
Eman Pulis, Founder of SiGMA Group, reflects on the monumental tasks required to put together such a massive event, as well as what is like leading a dedicated team and navigating them through all the challenges.
What we’ve accomplished here today is a testament to the dedication and teamwork that defines SiGMA. While the scale of the event has expanded, so have the complexities of organizing it, especially in a city that was not built for such large-scale events.
The SiGMA team managed to organize this event despite all odds, as they faced many colossal obstacles. The most challenging aspect, however, was poor weather, with the sunny island of Malta being pummeled for 10 days by strong winds, rain, and unsettled weather.
However, the SiGMA team prevailed and managed to pull off the perfect opening day, where despite all of these challenges, the first hour of the conferences welcomed attendees with clear skies and sunshine, a moment that set the tone for the successful days ahead.
Another testament to the sheer magnitude of SiGMA and its dedication and resilience, and something that is beautifully reflected in the documentary, is the transformation of the MMH shipyard. More specifically, 2,000 workers poured their souls and worked tirelessly over three weeks to convert 45,000 square meters of port space into a world-renowned venue.
This grandiose project brought together over 1,000 specialists from all around the globe who built more than 600 stands. From the foundation down to the finishing touches, this diligent attention to detail was crucial in creating the platform for hosting the 27,000 delegates who attended SiGMA Europe 2024.
Yet, building the venue from the ground up is just a fraction of the challenges that SiGMA faced in order to bring to life the “Mother of all conferences.” One of the most challenging aspects was related to local infrastructure, which saw traffic congestion a major issue with an average of 40 new cars added to streets daily.
Then, there were limited hotel beds, which posed even more issues, with many delegates needing to find accommodation in neighbouring towns. Even transportation was a problem, as limited flight connections in November imposed a severe logistical challenge for international travel for speakers and delegates from around the world.
Despite all the odds being stacked against them, the renowned SiGMA team ploughed through all the obstacles with sheer determination and remarkable dedication, pulling off an event that solidified SiGMA’s reputation as the leader in the global iGaming industry.
Make sure to tune in and watch the full documentary and witness the demanding job of creating the world’s foremost iGaming event.
