BetBlocker and Fresh Start

BetBlocker, a leading responsible gambling non-profit organization, has partnered with Fresh Start Zambia, a local charity organization, to expand its blocking software to support the three most spoken languages in Zambia.

This historic partnership marks the first initiative of BetBlocker specifically aimed at players from Africa, enabling access to a critical resource for underprivileged communities in the country.

As a result of the partnership between BetBlocker and Fresh Start Zambia, the responsible gambling advocate will focus its cutting-edge gambling tool to include the three most frequently spoken languages in Zambia – Bemba, Nyanja, and Tonga.

This noble initiative, financially supported by Entain, is set to address the non-existent gambling addiction services in Africa, particularly Zambia, compared to the plethora of resources and projects in more developed regions, such as Europe.

By joining forces with Fresh Start Zambia, BetBlocker will provide coverage to almost three-quarters of Zambia’s population, considering that the three languages we mentioned earlier make up nearly the entire population of 20.60 million native Zambian speakers.

By adding these particular languages, Zambian users are expected to enjoy a more effective service when it comes to battling problem gambling, allowing them to anonymously block access to gambling websites and gambling apps.

Duncan Garvie, Founder and Trustee of BetBlocker, commented on this groundbreaking project and said that this initiative not only enables locals access to a “smooth set-up process”, but also helps the company to bypass cultural barriers.

For BetBlocker, it’s critical to be able to reach users in a language that they can comfortably engage in to ensure a smooth and speedy set-up process. Native languages also help us step past cultural barriers, showing that BetBlocker isn’t simply available to these communities; it’s actively working to support them.

This news come after a successful year for BetBlocker where the company was involved in several massive projects and initiatives.

One of these includes BetBlocker partnering up with Clarion Gaming and working closely across world-renowned ICE Barcelona, iGB Affiliates, and iGB L!VE events in order to deliver responsible gambling messaging and safer play content within conference events.
