International Game Technologies (IGT), a global leader in gaming, has made up the exclusive and ever-growing list of GCGRA-certified vendor suppliers that are legally allowed to operate and provide their services in the United Aram Emirates (UAE).

Although there wasn’t a formal announcement regarding this development, IGT has still appeared as a licensed company on the official website of the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA).

IGT’s entrance into the UAE market and obtaining the official license to provide its services make it the fourth company to be approved by the GCGRA to operate within the UAE market. The first three gaming entities to receive certification prior to IGT were Novomatic, Aristocrat, and Wynn.

Though the UAE market is still in its initial stages, this is still a fast-growing and very sought-after jurisdiction that already sees the industry’s top dogs fighting to comply with the GCGRA’s requirements and be approved to enter the country.

The first major brand to announce its plans to invest in the UAE’s gaming market was Wynn Resorts. Back at the start of 2022, the renowned hotel and gambling brand revealed its plans for the $2 billion Al Marjan Island project in the UAE, a venture which saw the company receive $2.4 billion in funding.

Additionally, the nation of the UAE has also launched the country’s first-ever regulated lottery called The Game LLC, with the first draw taking place in December 2024, which saw a massive interest from the public and a major increase in gambling activity.

In related news, BMM Testlabs has also received an official license from the GCGRA, which will see the company conduct testing and certification of gambling products within the UAE.

Lastly, last week, the GCGRA signed the historic Memorandum of Understanding with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE), which will see the two authorities work closely to focus on responsible gambling, technological developments, and cybersecurity in the commercial gaming sector.
