The ACMA (Australian Communications and Media Authority), has conducted the latest round of enforcement action where it blocked eight additional affiliate marketing websites and online gambling operators.

More specifically, the ACMA issued a formal request to the Internet Services Providers (ISPs) of Australia to block eight questionable entities within the Australian gaming scene which were operating in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 of Australia.

The latest batch of blocked online gaming operators and affiliate marketing websites include:

  • JokaRoom
  • AUDPokies888
  • Aura Play
  • Instant Casino
  • Leon
  • Rich Papa
  • UUSpin
  • Wild Pokies

By releasing the list of the latest blocked iGaming entities, ACMA reaffirms its ongoing efforts to protect Australian gaming enthusiasts from illegal gambling operators that do not adhere to the Gambling Act 2001.

Ever since ACMA first implemented its first blocking order in November 2019, the gambling regulator has blocked a staggering 1,154 unlicensed, i.e. illegal gambling websites and affiliate marketing websites.

Moreover, ever since the government in Australia started the crackdown and the uncompromising enforcement of its new gambling legislation in 2017, nearly 220 illegal operators and affiliate marketers have withdrawn from the gaming scene in the Land Down Under.

ACMA explains that all of these operators and affiliates lack critical and essential customer protection tools and features, something that undeniably puts players and their funds at risk.

In related news, the ACMA recently issued a formal warning to two major iGaming companies, Luster N.V. and Dama N.V., for providing unauthorized gaming services via multiple platforms to players from Australia.

One of the best indicators of the general stance of the Australian government towards online gambling is the recent news where Western Australia said that it plans to further strengthen its gambling legislation for the purpose of increasing enforcement jurisdiction and penalty fees.
