Crash Game Pioneer Strengthens Intellectual Property Enforcement Across One of Its Longest-Standing African Markets
Game development studio SPRIBE OÜ has successfully registered official trademark protection for the iconic Aviator game logo in Kenya, significantly expanding its intellectual property (IP) safeguards in a key jurisdiction where the title has actively operated since 2021.
The trademark protection was filed through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Madrid System, carrying a retroactive effective date of October 11, 2024. The Madrid System enables international rights holders to extend and manage trademark protection across member territories via a single centralized application.
Solidifying Market Presence and Combating Imitations
Kenya represents one of Aviator‘s most established and mature markets, having entertained local players for five years. By securing legal trademark recognition for the game’s branding, SPRIBE aims to crack down on unauthorized clones and imitations while providing licensed operator partners with enhanced security and consumer trust.
Executive Commentary
Discussing the significance of the trademark registration, Giorgi Tsutskiridze, Chief Commercial Officer at SPRIBE, stated:
“Kenyan players were among the earliest to take Aviator to their hearts, and the game has been part of that market for five years now. Registering the logo gives us firmer ground to stand on whenever imitations turn up, and it gives the licensed operators we work with the confidence that what they are putting in front of their players is the real deal.”
